On Monday morning, Bollywood celebrities gathered at their nearest polling booths to their preferred political parties. Photos and videos of the stars are currently going viral on social media as actors and filmmakers stepped out of their houses to vote during the Lok Sabha Elections of 2024 in Mumbai. Polling has been underway since 7 am in 13 Lok Sabha constituencies of Maharashtra, including six in Mumbai. Actor Akshay Kumar, who received his Indian citizenship a few times back, also voted for the first time. 

During an interaction, Kumar opened up about his experience of casting his vote at a polling station in Juhu. Quoted by The Hindu, he said, “I want my India to be developed and strong and I kept these things in my mind when I went to cast my vote. All Indians should think what is right for them and vote.” Filmmaker sibling duo Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar to stepped out of their house to cast their vote. The Don 3 filmmaker told PTI, “My vote is for good governance, the government that looks after all the people, gives us a better city.” Urging the younger generation to come vote, he added. “I just heard from somebody that young people are complaining that it’s too hot but its not hot at all, so please do step out, do vote.” Farhan and Zoya were accompanied by their mother Honey Irani. Apart from them Mr And Mrs Mahi co-stars Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor also cast their votes. On the work front, last seen in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Akshay Kumar has Sarfira, Singham Again, Hera Pheri 3, and the multi-starrer Welcome To The Jungle in his pipeline. He will also be making his debut in the Marathi film industry with Mahesh Manjrekar directorial Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. he will be seen essaying the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor are awaiting the release of their film Mr And Mrs Mahi.
